More ways to know the emotional state of your dog. I have been watching in our own dogs for some time. It’s holding true. Has helped to intercede before we had a couple confrontations between our’s here.
Tail wagging more to the dog’s left; Negative response/Avoidance
Tail wagging more to the dog’s right; Positive response/Approach
Dogs approaching another dog with a tail wagging predominantly to the left become more stressed as they approach.
Dogs approaching another dog with tail wagging predominantly to the right became more relaxed.
In ours: when approaching/greeting us their tails stay mid-line and right, maybe 10% to left.

Very Interesting Dave!!! dogs are visual experts for sure!
A dogs life is like a piece of paper on which every person leaves a mark.

I was able to observe Ace today when i was around a group of people. First time I have really been able to observe the left/right with other people.
He was in a heel beside me while I was talking to one person others were walking by close; his tail was wagging but to the left 80%. No other indicators of stress anyone would have noticed unless they really knew him.
It was interesting to see the difference.
Would be interesting to know the likelyhood of a dog to progress to biting if the left wag is ignored.
