About:
I am his third owner, he was three when he arrived. I don’t know much about his past, only that he destroyed the interior of the second owner. He has a scar under his chin, perhaps from a fight? Here he got a strict regime of exercise, rest, and obedience training, and he never destroyed anything in our house. He gets at least a one hour walk daily, and several bike runs a week. He opened up very quick when we got him, he loves a selected group of known people, but he was and still is very reactive, to dogs approaching, and sometimes to people. I took him to guided group walks. That gave me more insight about his character and preferences. He made some friends, step by step, all females, different types, and he is very good at adjusting his play to another dog. His greeting style to other dogs is very in your face, tail up, chest pumped up. Beside the selected females, he tolerates small dogs. Large males are the enemy. He can walk calmly in a group of twenty, and freak out when a strange dog passes by. He has skin allergies, but a raw meat diet has helped a lot. He lives separated from my other dog, they have been fighting over resources and I lack the knowledge to reintroduce them. My main training goal with him is to get his reactive behavior under control, and if possible to solve the issues between both dogs. He has been attacked by a loose running Airedale terrier a couple of months ago, he defended himself and pinned the other dog to the ground until the other owner was able to pull his dog from under him. He could have destroyed the freaked out dog but he did not go all the way. Since the incident, his reactive behavior has intensified. He is constantly on guard during walks.
